Climate Launchpad is the global green business ideas competition. It was set up to aspire entrepreneurs grow their cleantech ideas into global businesses. Its mission is to address the negative impacts of climate change by ways of innovation, invention and entrepreneurship. The competition supports aspiring and promising cleantech entrepreneurs with training, coaching and networking opportunities. The programme is part of the entrepreneurship offerings by EIT Climate-KIC, the European Union's innovation program for climate change.

Renewable Energy Business Incubator (REBI) Limited hosts the competition in Uganda. REBI Limited incubates (nurtures) renewable energy startups, provides business development services to micro, small and medium size enterprises, develops skills of youth and young adults in order to increase their employability and to create employment opportunities and pilots technologies. Eligible and interested innovators with ideas in Clean Energy, Energy Efficiency, Food and Agriculture, Water, Transportation, Industrial Technology, Air and Environment, Clean Industry, Energy Storage or any other way to tackle climate change should apply for the competition. Selected finalists will attend a 3-day online boot camp for nurturing of their ideas. This will be followed with online coaching sessions of all finalists for a period of six (6) weeks where partnering experts will help them perfect their pitch, value proposition, business model and more. Upon completion of this intensive training programme, the teams will pitch their ideas at an online national competition and out of those; three (3) will be selected to represent Uganda in the online regional competitions. The overall winner of the Regional Finals will receive €4,500, the runner up will get €2,000 and the idea that comes in third place will win €1,000. More Information about. Eligibility criteria

Join the competition. But before you do, we just want to make sure that you:

have not yet started a business or you started it less than one year ago have no substantial revenue you have attracted no more than € 200,000 in investment you have not yet sold products, solutions or prototypes on commercial terms
