The Equator Prize 2025 is a biennial award organized by the Equator Initiative within the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It aims to recognize and support community-led initiatives that contribute to sustainable development through nature-based solutions. Initiatives must demonstrate measurable environmental, social, and economic benefits aligned with the Global Biodiversity Framework and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Eligible initiatives must have been operational for at least three years and provide nature-based actions contributing to at least two SDGs. Each winner receives USD 10,000, and the application process is currently open until February 23, 2025.
