Youth Innovation Labs Project

Imuka Access facilitated the Youth Innovation Labs in 4 regions of Uganda: Eastern (Mbale District), Western (Fortportal), Northern(Gulu District) and Central (Mubende District). The project was contracted by PEDN(Private Education Development Network) under the Feed the Future Youth Leadership in Agriculture (YLA) activity through USAID – US Agency for International Development.

The goal of the innovation labs was to design and develop feasible solutions to the defined local a stakeholder problems. The the youth participants were guided through an agile inclusive innovation process which allowed design thinking the product design phase. The products designed were pitched before the target user stakeholders and most feasible outstanding solutions were selected to participate in the business development accelerator to support preparation, refinement and support the actualization of the developed ideas.

A total of 80 youths are took part in the YLA Youth Innovation Contest aimed at unlocking youth potential through supporting youth innovators to develop inclusive business solutions for the agriculture sector actors with sessions being facilitated by PEDN Certified trainers under the PEDN Academy as well as trainers from ImukaAccess.
