WIDU Local Call For Food Security In Kenya

Wednesday 31st July 2024

Are you an entrepreneur running a micro or small enterprise that contributes to sufficient, safe and/or nutritious food and agricultural production in Kenya? Apply for #FoodSecurityKenya and stand a chance to receive funding and coaching.

With rising food insecurity taking center stage owing to the enormous challenges posed by COVID-19, Russian-Ukraine War and changing climate, WIDU Kenya will support micro and small businesses response efforts for a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient recovery of their agriculture and food systems.

Within this context, WIDU Kenya encourages proposals that aim to increase the impact of agricultural and food systems interventions through emphasis on cross-cutting areas of gender, climate resilience, and improved nutrition outcomes.

WIDU.africa now offers a new type of funding for every business that ensures food is produced, processed, transported, prepared and makes it from farms to the forks of their communities. With #FoodSecurityKenya, WIDU promotes micro and small businesses that produce food (e.g. farmers), process food (e.g. bakeries), improve how efficiently food is produced (e.g. suppliers of fertilizer), conserve food and reduce food waste or boost healthy and nutritious eating habits in any way. Does your existing business fit into any of those categories? Or do you have a business idea that could fit? Then WIDU’s “Local Call: #FoodSecurityKenya” can be your opportunity.
