SheTrades Investment Readiness Workshop

The main objective of the training workshop was to equip participants, investment readiness knowledge and skills to enable them adequately prepare key investment documents and how to approach investors. In order to meet the main objective, the consultant in consultation with She Trades prepared to undertake the following main tasks, but also following the principle of adult learning and effectiveness of training according to experience, level of education and training as well as considering the available resources. The activities conducted by Imuka Access team included:

The Workshop

These was a 2-day training workshop from 30th to 31st October, 2019.

The participants represented various sectors including: Agriculture, Agri-business, Tourism, Value Addition, Information Technology, Food Processing, Real Estate, Manufacturing and Textile.We had 26 participants on Day one (1), and 24 participants on day two (2).

Generally, the workshop provided knowledge, skills and a great avenue for networking with fellow entrepreneurs, facilitators and investors.

DAY 1:

The Team Lead of Imuka Access introduced himself welcomed the participants. He also debriefed the participants about SheTrades initiative.

The participants were thereafter asked to introduce themselves, their businesses and expectations for the 2-day workshop. The expectations were captured

The workshop started with activities on understanding their customers, value propositions and thereafter refining their business models.

The atmosphere, training activities were practical and fun to enable the participants involved.


DAY 2:

The 2nd day started at 8.30am with a recap of Day1’s topics, thereafter the days sessions started. The day involved understanding and refining their investment pitches. This was further practised through peer to peer elevator pitching exercise.

The elevator pitching amongst themselves was an important activity prior to meeting potential investors in the afternoon.

The sessions of the day ended with participation of representatives of various investment and finance institutions, and closed with a networking cocktail to allow the participants to further interact with potential investors.
