PitchFest 2020-How it Happened

The eagerly awaited PitchFest2020 finally happened at the Uganda Industrial Research Institute(UIRI), on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th of  December, 2020. The event attracted 100 entrepreneurs in areas of agribusiness, renewable energy, manufacturing, media and ICT. From 100 applicants; 30 enterprises were selected based on justified financial need and post revenue status, these were keen to pitch to investors for funding of their businesses to the next level. The 2 day event was a success with 70% of the entrepreneurs attracting confirmed interest from more than one investor interested to fund their businesses.  The PitchFest was organized by Imuka Access and partners to provide an avenue for initiating financial access connections by bridging the gap between entrepreneurs and investors. It was also created to expand  business networks for the participating stakeholders.

Prior to the event the selected entrepreneurs were coached and trained by top industry coaches and experts in preparation for the showcase. This included Julia Nansubuga a sales expert of Nately Creations, Daniel Yiga Bukenya an acceleration and investments specialist from Goldstone Enterprise Consulting and Training, Reuben Gansasule an investment expert from Stanbic Investment Club, Joshua Mugisha an enterprise development expert from Laurie Jay consulting and Margaret Nakakande lead consultant at Eloquent Business Solutions.

The lead at Imuka Access Mr. Roy Gakuo was excited to see the connections and informed us that they intend to support and connect more entrepreneurs towards actualizing their business growth potential.
