About the Fellowship
The Young Impact Associates (YIA) in Agrifood Systems Fellowship is a year-long program designed to develop a new generation of African leaders in impact measurement. The fellowship equips young professionals with knowledge, tools, and skills to assess and demonstrate the impact of socially inclusive interventions in Africa’s agrifood systems.
The program is implemented by a consortium of partners, including:
✅ CIFOR-ICRAF
✅ African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD)
✅ African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP)
✅ Akademiya2063
Funded by the Mastercard Foundation, the fellowship aims to accelerate the careers of young African leaders in impact measurement, research, and consulting, positioning them to drive evidence-based decision-making in Africa’s agrifood sector.
Who Should Apply?
The fellowship is open to young professionals aged 18–35 from Ghana, Kenya, and Uganda who are passionate about:
✔ Driving transformational change in agrifood systems through data-driven decision-making.
✔ Measuring impact, creating change, and shaping Africa’s development narrative.
✔ Building expertise in research, evaluation, and consulting.
