The Hive Accelerator, initiated by Hive Colab in partnership with the Argidius Foundation, aims to increase the success rate of high-growth, investment-ready startups in Uganda. Over three years (2023-2026), the program will accelerate 80 startups through four cohorts of 20 startups each.

Target Sectors

While sector-agnostic, preference will be given to:

• Tech and tech-enabled startups in Agtech, Medtech, Edtech, Fintech, and Govtech.
• Female-founded and female-led startups.

What We Are Looking For

We seek innovative startups with business models that can:

• Grow and scale significantly.
• Generate revenue growth.
• Create new jobs.
• Attract venture capital investment.

Eligibility Criteria

Startups must meet the following requirements:

• Legally incorporated in Uganda, with a founding team of Ugandan nationals.
• Early-stage business with significant growth potential.
• A founding team of at least two members with diverse skill sets and at least one full-time founder.
• Minimum annual revenue of $10,000.
• Management accounts or audited financial records.

What Selected Startups Will Receive

• Three-month investment readiness program, including:
  • VIRAL self-assessment, financial planning, pitching, and milestone planning.
• $15,000 funding for four startups per cohort (equity or debt-based).
• Support to raise further investment for at least 50% of the businesses within 1-3 years.
• Mentorship for six months post-program to strengthen business fundamentals.
• Peer learning, business linkages, and access to a network of founders.
