The ClimateLaunchpad is the world’s largest green business ideas competition, dedicated to discovering and supporting innovative climate solutions. The competition provides a platform for green innovators to transform their ideas into scalable businesses, offering exposure, mentorship, and opportunities to pitch to global investors and stakeholders.

The program is part of Climate-KIC, the European Union’s innovation program for climate change, and in Uganda, it is hosted by the Renewable Energy Business Incubator (REBi) Limited. REBi supports renewable energy startups, MSMEs, youth employment, and technology pilots.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• The startup must be less than two years old.
• The startup must not have substantial revenue.
• The startup must not have attracted more than €200,000 in investment.
• The startup must not have sold products, solutions, or prototypes commercially.
• Applicants must be Ugandan citizens.

What to Expect

Training: Selected participants will attend a 3-day online boot camp, followed by 6 weeks of coaching with industry experts to refine their business model, value proposition, and pitch.

Competition:

• Participants will pitch their ideas at a national online competition.
• The top three startups will advance to the Africa Regional Finals.
• The top two African finalists will compete in the Global Grand Finals in Vienna, Austria (October 24, 2025).

Launch & Acceleration: The top six global winners will qualify for the ClimateLaunchpad Accelerator Program.

Prizes & Opportunities

National Finalists: Prizes in-kind (to be determined by REBi Limited).
National Winner: Travel sponsorship to attend and pitch at the Global Grand Final in Vienna.
Top 2 Regional Finalists: Travel sponsorship to pitch at the Grand Final.
Skills & Networking: Gain expert training, new skills, and access to global investors and partners.
