The eagerly awaited PitchFest2020 finally happened at the Uganda Industrial Research Institute(UIRI), on Thursday 3 rd and Friday 4 th of December, 2020. The event attracted 100 entrepreneurs in areas of agribusiness, renewable energy, manufacturing, media and ICT. From 100 applicants; 30 entreprises were selected based on justified financial need and post revenue status, these were keen to pitch to investors for funding of their businesses to the next level. The 2 day event was a success with 70% of the entrepreneurs attracting confirmed interest from more than one investor interested to fund their businesses.
Prior to the event the selected entrepreneurs were coached and trained by top industry coaches and experts in preparation for the showcase. This included Julia Nansubuga a sales expert of Nately Creations, Daniel Yiga Bukenya an acceleration and investments specialist from Goldstone Enterprise Consulting and Training, Reuben Gansasule an investment expert from Stanbic Investment Club, Joshua Mugisha an enterprise development expert from Laurie Jay consulting and Margaret Nakakande lead consultant at Eloquent Business Solutions.
The event also provided an avenue for the investors and partners to make use of the Imuka Access deal profiler tool http://deals.imukaaccess.com/#/homepage platform which allows investors to make investment offers to profiled entrepreneurs.
